Reenvisioning Equitable Computer Science Education
Too few elementary students — especially those from underrepresented groups — have access to meaningful computer science education. Tequity4All is a Maryland nonprofit dedicated to changing that. Our work spans teacher professional development, school robotics grants, research-practitioner partnerships, family awareness initiatives, and statewide convenings. All of it focuses on computational thinking, computer science, and responsible AI — primarily in grades PreK–5, with select projects spanning K–12.
Beyond project work, Tequity4All operates at a strategic level — advising educators, administrators, and partners on CS education policy, practice, and direction in Maryland. Our goal is student agency — the ability to apply computational thinking, computer science, and AI knowledge and skills to solve problems and succeed in school, career, and life. What makes Tequity4All distinct is its focus on elementary grades as the equity frontier — using hands-on robotics and physical computing to reach students who are most often left out, while working simultaneously at the classroom, district, and policy levels to make CS a foundational part of every Maryland child's education.
Increasing Access to Computer Science Education
Empowering Young Minds
Building a Better Future
Who We Are
Tequity4All is a For Purpose (nonprofit) project fiscally sponsored by the Digital Harbor Foundation. We aim to increase access to computer science education for PreKindergarten to 8th-grade students in Maryland and empower young minds to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
What We Do
We offer a range of programs and resources to help students learn computer science in an engaging and effective way. We bring together schools, teachers, business people, and funders to ensure students receive a high-quality computing education that empowers them to realize their passions in whatever field they pursue. We work to build, promote, and sustain computing learning excellence throughout the state. This work will fuel innovation and a vibrant work/life environment. We aim to enable schools to provide equitable access to at least 10 hours of computer science and robotics instruction annually for every PreK-8 public school student in the state. Five other states and seventeen countries have made computer science compulsory in primary and secondary schools. The time for Maryland to do the same is now! Tequity4All offers guidance to school systems and develops resources to expedite this effort. Tequity4All raises funds to provide grants to schools to realize this vision. Consider donating to support this vital work.

Outreach
Tequity4All co-hosts community outreach events to raise public awareness on the importance computer science.

Fund Raising
Tequity4All raises funds to grant to schools to bring in-school physical computing such as robotics to every student. Schools can use these funds to supplement their state a local funding to purchase equipment, curriculum, and professional development.

Mentoring
An effective physical computing program, requires much more that equipment. The instructional program is only as effective as the teacher delivering it and the administrator behind it. Tequity4All plans to connect schools to expertise and resources so their robotics programs succeed.
